5.11’s ATAC 8” boot features a hidden side pocket, curved YKK zipper for easy on and off capability, and 1220D Cordura nylon for durability while our lightweight ATAC 6” offers 1200D Cordura® nylon for breathability. These boots include our new Shock Mitigation System™ technology for comfort and are made with U.S.A. leather for support and an oil/slip resistant outsole for stability. 5.11 Tactical is setting a new and higher standard for tactical footwear. This boot is by far the best I've owned. I used to have a pair of Bates, but forgot the model; but these are better than the Bates! I just like everything about them. Every time I walk with them on they don't make any type of noise except for the noise I make from walking. They're also very comfortable and very 'waterproof'. I stood in water for a few minutes and not one drop seeped through. And the ripples at the tip of the toe are great...one day I was running after a suspect and had to climb a fence after him, these boots really grabbed the fence making it easier to climb! Way to go 5.11. |

So with that all said, I'll then have only 5.11 and Safariland for my police equipment! Something everyone should know...Mr. W. Johnson Keokuk, IA said something about these boots which don't make any sense. He mention that his boots were falling apart after just a couple months... Well if that was the case he should have contacted the place he purchased them from and got them exchanged or should have contacted 5.11 about the issue and I'm sure they would have exchanged them for him. His pair just could have been a bad patch; which can happen to any type of product...there could always be a bad one from the batch. |

I got these boots about a year ago, and now they are starting to fall apart. The Side Zip is an awesome feature to have and the overall comfort of the boot is awesome. They are starting to wear through the sides but they are still comfortable. |

I would not waste money on these boots. They were the most comfortable boot I have ever owned, but thats all. There is way too much padding around the top which make the boot bulky. The material on the side began to rip away from the leather within the first few months. There is also padding inside the boot in the toe area. That padding is ripping away as well. I have had these boots only for a few months and I am now having to order a new pair. |
